Edward Fox

Edward Fox has been a leader in Chicago’s Jewish community for more than three decades. He has served as president and chairman of the Jewish United Fund/Jewish Federation of Metropolitan Chicago, chaired its OveraIl Planning and Allocations Committee, the Jewish Community Relations Council, and the JFMC Facilities Corporation. On the fundraising side, Fox has served as chairman of numerous JUF divisions including the Trades, Industries and Professions and its Drugs Division, which in 1982 gave him its Tribute Award. He also has chaired JUF’s Country Club Division, Pacesetter’s Event and Israel Solidarity Day. Fox also has served on the board of directors of CJE SeniorLife.

The length and depth of Mr. Fox’s service is demonstrated by the fact that in 1980, he received JUF’s Young Leadership Award, and in 2006, more than 25 years later, he received the Julius Rosenwald Memorial Award, JUF’s highest honor.

On the state level, Mr. Fox has served as Vice President of the Holocaust Memorial Foundation of Illinois, and in 1998 received the Holocaust Foundation Humanitarian Award. On the national level, Fox has served on the board of the Council of Jewish Federations. Finally, on the international level, he has served as a board member of the American Jewish Joint Distribution Committee, which helps those in need in Israel and 65 other countries worldwide.

Edward Fox is a graduate of the St. Louis College of Pharmacy and a founding partner of Parkway Drug Stores. He is a member of North Shore Congregation Israel and lives in Highland Park with his wife Sherry. Their family includes: two daughters, Donna, and Julie, a son-in-law , Matt and two grandsons, Hayden and Trevor.
