to both new and old generations...LIVE! 

The cast and crew of the JCC Young Actors Ensemble, too young to have seen the TV series themselves when it aired, are also providing the first look at an old favorite for Orthodox Jews who never would have been able to watch the popular Saturday-morning TV series when it aired, due to observance of Shabbat.

Innovative program enhancements aimed to encourage
"active lifestyle" of campers called "Movin' It."

(Skokie, IL)-JCC's Camp Chi, the overnight camp owned and operated by the Jewish Community Centers of Chicago (JCC), has been named a recipient of the Foundation for Jewish Camp's Camper-Centric Challenge Grant. This matching grant will allow Camp Chi to implement facility and program enhancements that reinforce a message of healthy living and encourage campers to embrace an active lifestyle. Camp Chi is calling their program "Movin' It." Specifically the grant will fund outdoor lights for Chi's athletic fields and outdoor sports courts, a new state-of-the-art, free-form climbing tower, a series of fitness programs and a staff training initiative.

Costumed children gather to celebrate Purim PDF Print E-mail

jcc of chicago purim funSunday, March 16, over 400 people gathered at the Bernard Weinger JCC in Northbrook to celebrate the festive Jewish holiday Purim. Purim commemorates salvation from a planned genocide 2,400 years ago in Persia, the Jewish triumph, and its heroes.

The carnival featured games, face painting, and plenty of Hamentashen (triangular shaped cookies filled with fruit), the traditional Purim snack. The famous competitive jump rope athlete, Rope Warrior David Fisher, presented a thrilling display of the best elements of jump rope tricks and skills, to the delight of the children and adults.
