The new Lake County Jewish Community Campus, featuring the JCC Elaine Frank Apachi Day Camp, will open in June 2008. The campus, located on a 37-acre site on Old McHenry Road near Route 22, is a joint project of the Jewish United Fund/Jewish Federation of Metropolitan Chicago (JUF/Federation) and Jewish Community Centers of Chicago (JCC). The day camp will serve 400 children (ages 4 years through 6th grade) in its first year, and expand to 800 by the fourth season. |

JCCs of North America Website JCCs of Chicago Will Open Day Camp on New Campus The JCCs of Chicago will open JCC Elaine Frank Apachi Day Camp in the summer of 2008, a new camp facility on a 37-acre site that will serve the northwest suburbs, the fastest growing Jewish community in metropolitan Chicago. The new facility will also serve the community with year-round early childhood programs in addition to camp programming. The site will feature two pools, manicured sports fields, an indoor space for specialty activities and rainy days, nature areas, hiking trails, a climbing wall and ropes course, picnic areas, multi-purpose courts for various sports, and more. |
