The relationship between grandparents and their grandchildren is rich in spirit and tradition. We believe in the value of these relationships and the potential they have to strengthen community members young and old! JCC of Chicago has created opportunities and experiences that add new dimensions to the grandparent/grandchild relationship.

Activities with a Jewish Twist

Throughout Chicago and the suburbs, we offer activities that stimulate creative thinking, provoke meaningful dialogue, and provide an avenue where grandparents and their grandchildren can enjoy each other’s company in a safe, structured setting. Our programs are further enhanced with visits from JCC’s Rabbi Nina Mizrahi and Early Childhood Jewish Educator Pat Nisenholz. Nina and Pat offer insights and open doors to Jewish learning and traditions. They encourage the sharing that goes hand-in-hand with grandparenting—making each program unique and special.

Our grandparent programs are designed to strengthen family relationships. Unique one-on-one activities and interactive group experiences allow grandparents and grandchildren to exchange stories, share and record special moments and create memories that last a lifetime.

Staff going above and beyond

We have carefully coordinated and planned each program to nurture the grandparent/grandchild relationship. Activities are led by an enthusiastic and dedicated staff who have years of experience. JCC staff provides hands-on guidance, instruction and support during each program, allowing you to enjoy and cherish every moment you spend with your grandchild.

Grandparents Circle

Grandparents Circle is a FREE outreach program to provide education and support for Jewish grandparents with interfaith grandchildren.
