JCC aquatics staff teach the American Red Cross Learn-to-Swim program. This multi-level program allows campers to progress at their own pace and develop the confidence and skills they need to become good swimmers. Safety is stressed in and around the pool. Certified lifeguards staff the pool during swim instruction and free play. Yedidim campers swim two times a week. Chaverim campers swim three times a week. Campers first grade and up swim once each day except on field trip days.
Each camper is tested at the beginning of the summer and placed in an appropriate swim level. Each level includes specific skill requirements which campers work on with staff. Campers pass out of levels through formal and informal testing.
Swim Progress Reports
Parents receive a swim progress report at the end of the summer which shares the skills campers are currently working on as well as accomplishments.
Observing Swim Lessons
