MEET NEW FRIENDS . . . Enjoy year-round holiday celebrations and special events . . . Join a synagogue. When you become a member of the Sidney N. Shure Kehilla Program, you receive all of these benefits and more. More importantly though, you make a connection to Chicago's Jewish Community.

Founded in 1994, the Sidney N. Shure Kehilla Program is an innovative partnership between the Florence G. Heller Jewish Community Center, Anshe Sholom B'nai Israel Congregation, Anshe Emet Synagogue, Congregation Or Chadash, Emanuel Congregation, and Temple Sholom of Chicago, and works with the GAP and young adult programs of the Hillels of Illinois.

Benefits of Kehilla Membership

As a member of Kehilla, you have access to all six organizations and are welcome and encouraged to participate in all that we have to offer. Enjoy weekly services, participate in a sports league, or sign up for a Jewish studies class. Whatever your interests, Kehilla has a program that will meet your needs.

Kehilla also has its own year-round programming that follows the Jewish calendar year. Celebrations such as Latkepalooza for Hanukkah, the Purim Bash, Young Adult Seder, Makor Shabbat dinners, and other exciting activities give you the opportunity to incorporate Jewish celebration and tradition into your life. In addition, Kehilla offers a variety of educational programs such as Biblically Incorrect, a stimulating panel discussion, Tikkun Leyl Shavuot, an all-night Shavuot study session, as well as a variety of special learning opportunities.

Explore all the facets of Jewish community life through Sidney N. Shure Kehilla Program, an organization created by JCC and local synagogues to bring together young Jewish adults as part of the Jewish community. Kehilla is your personal connection to the High Holidays and year-round Jewish programs, all in one annual membership. Membership benefits include tickets to High Holiday services and year-round programs, holiday events, quarterly newsletters. For more information about the Sidney N.
