JCC of Chicago provides record levels of scholarship assistance for program and membership fees at Centers and camps - funding generated by volunteer organizations such as the Women's Auxiliary and the JCC Senior Service League

Adults can join the exciting Ambassador Corps program. In addition, JCC administers the EZRA Multi-Service Center (MSC) located in Chicago's Uptown neighborhood. MSC is a Jewish Federation-funded, JCC-administered emergency service center. Each year, the Center serves more than 4,000 homeless and disadvantaged individuals and families.

Funds generated are also used to provide scholarship assistance to older adults who would otherwise be unable to take advantage of Perlstein's wonderful vacation opportunities.

Project Chesed

Members also provide much-needed assistance throughout JCC and the Chicago Jewish community, including the review and assessment of request for financial assistance for summer camp programs. Auxiliary participants also serve as advisors to the scholarship process at local JCCs.

This past year, JCC benefited greatly from the significant role the Auxiliary played in the development and growth of Project Chesed, a program designed to assist Jewish individuals and families at risk or in crisis. Committee members acted as liaisons, connecting individuals and families in need with appropriate social services and community resources such as depression counseling, divorce counseling, financial management, sexual abuse and more.

Women’s Auxiliary volunteers also provide personal support, resource, and referral services to families and individuals in crisis through Project Chesed—a program designed to assist individuals and families at risk or in crisis.
