Apachi Chicago Staff are trustworthy and caring individuals committed to working with young children in a Jewish environment. Our low camper-to-staff ratio fosters meaningful relationships and gives campers the individual attention they need. Each summer our directors, leadership team, counselors and specialists work hard to create a warm and wonderful experience for every camper. Meet the Directors

The joy of working all year to build a wonderful, safe and fun camp for JCC Apachi Chicago’s campers comes to life each summer morning when Andrea Goldstein greets the campers filing off the buses excited for a busy day. A life-long camper herself, Andrea has directed camps for more than 15 years and is proud to be celebrating camp’s 10th season in the summer of 2012. She’s had her professional, organized hand involved in the growth and success of camp since opening it in 2003 as she works to offer a one-of-a-kind experience for families. This summer will be no exception especially because her own two boys will be at camp for the first time. Tag-teaming with Andrea to create a blockbuster team, Marni Katz brings a Masters in Social Work from the University of Michigan to what will be her seventh summer with Apachi Chicago. She, too, is a life-long camper, focusing her creative efforts on programming and scheduling. For Marni, driving the creative side of camp and witnessing children grow and learn pushes her each day, always striving to create “ah-ha” moments for children as they experience new things. Together, Andrea and Marni are dedicated, hard-working “camp people” that believe in the experience, the nurturing and the lessons children get from being at camp. They work diligently to create magical moments and remarkable summers.
