Programs at Hyde Park JCC Tzofim — 3 & 4 Years OldWe pack a full day of fun into this sensational half-day program! Our nurturing, experienced Tzofim staff and small group size provide young campers with the attention they need to have a positive first camp experience. Campers enjoy sports, games, art, dance and more. Four-year-old campers head to the pool twice each week for Red Cross swim instruction, while three-year-olds stay at the ‘J’ for water play. Theme days, Shabbat cookouts, all-camp celebrations and other spirited activities add excitement and help build camp traditions. All Tzofim campers must be toilet trained. Bonim — KindergartenKindergartners enjoy the variety and excitement of Bonim as they quickly soak up the camp spirit. Campers take part in Red Cross swim instruction three days each week and enjoy a range of specialty activities including art, music, sports and drama where the emphasis is on participation and fun. Two field trips, beach days, “wild card” professional entertainment and a special undernighter (late afternoon) at camp round out an amazing summer experience. Sayarim — 1st GradeSayarim’s non-stop schedule focuses on building campers’ skills, boosting their self-esteem and exposing them to new activities. Campers swim three days each week with time for both Red Cross instruction and free swim. They also take part in a variety of specialty activities, such as art, music, drama and team sports. Four field trips and an undernighter (late afternoon) encourage our little campers to feel like big kids, while theme days, “wild card” surprises and Shabbat barbecues build great camp traditions and life-long memories. Chaverim — 2nd GradeChaverim is packed with opportunities to try out new activities, improve skills and have fun! Campers swim three days each week with time for both Red Cross swim instruction and free swim. They also participate in team sports, art, drama, beach days, Shabbat cookouts and fun “wild card” entertainment. Four field trips to favorite destinations like water parks, boat cruises and amusement centers, and an amazing undernighter encourage kids to become more independent. Programs at Anita M. Stone JCCRound-trip bus service from Hyde Park JCC is included for Anita M. Stone JCC campers. Campers are picked up at Hyde Park JCC at 8:00am and return at 4:30pm. Pioneers — 2nd & 3rd GradePioneer campers gain independence and strengthen leadership skills, take on new challenges and build lifelong friendships. Campers swim twice daily with one period devoted to swim instruction. Choosing their own specialty activities, heading out of camp for field trips and enjoying a late night at camp encourage independence. Voyagers — 4th–6th GradeOur older campers put their own twist on the camp day by choosing the specialty activities that interest them most. Campers swim twice each day with one period devoted to instruction, and take a field trip each week to great destinations around Chicagoland. Voyagers also enjoy a special overnighter at camp. Sports Camp — 4th–6th GradeThis all-action camp emphasizes skill development, sportsmanship, teamwork and personal growth through fun skill drills, daily game play and team-building activities. Campers swim twice daily (one period devoted to instruction) and enjoy a variety of field trips to sports outings and other exciting attractions. Tweens — 7th–9th GradeTweens is an on-the-go experience providing a combination of outdoor adventure and urban discovery. Three days a week, campers head out for choice outings like bowling, golfing, crafts or a social action project. Twice a week, Tweens take part in all-day adventures such as sporting events, Great America and more. Also includes 2 overnighters. Enrollment is limited to 75 campers. Try Chi Post-Camp — 3rd–6th GradeTry overnight camp! Campers and staff head up to JCC’s Camp Chi overnight camp in the Dells for four days and three nights of cabin life, water skiing, horseback riding, swimming, arts & crafts, late night camp fires and more.
