POSITION:   
Maintenance Staff

LOCATION:  
Elaine Frank Apachi Day Camp/Lake County Community Campus, Lake Zurich

DUTIES:   
• Provide maintenance of Early Childhood Services classrooms and restrooms, including carpet cleaning, vinyl floor upkeep, washing of walls, windows, and all surface areas.
• Responsible for cleaning remaining classrooms, hallways, bathrooms and stairwells.
• Responsible for exterior clean up of the building.
• At times may need to repair classroom furniture and small building repairs as instructed by maintenance dept, supervisor.
• Responsible for program set-ups on this shift.
• Responsible for keeping all sidewalks clear of snow and ice during winter months.
• As directed by supervisor, responsible for general landscaping upkeep such as grass cutting, bush trimming, some light tree trimming etc.
• Ensure that the building is in a clean and safe condition for members and staff.
• Other duties as assigned.

DAYS/HOURS:   
Monday-Friday from 8:00am to 4:00pm

SALARY RANGE:  
Union Scale 

REQUIREMENTS:  
• High School diploma or equivalent required;
• Must be knowledgeable of OSHA regulations;
• Must have general knowledge of janitorial skills and housekeeping skills;
• Must have demonstrated knowledge of general building maintenance, such as basic plumbing, basic electrical, painting etc.
• Knowledge of hand and power tools;
• Knowledge of using landscaping equipment such as, riding mowers, lawn mowers, edgers, weed wackers, etc.
• Knowledge of floor stripping and buffing machinery;
• Knowledge of carpet-extractor;
• Demonstrated ability to prioritize and work independently yet function as a part of a team;
• Strong customer services and interpersonal skills;
• Ability to multi-task;
• Ability to work flexible hours a plus;
• Must be able to lift 50 to 70 lbs.
