2/15/08 Who/What: Bernard Horwich JCC presents a Grand Opening event to celebrate the opening of one of the only separate-gender workout facilities in the country.When: February 24th 2008, 1:00 to 3:00 pm Where: 3003 W. Touhy Avenue, Chicago, IL, 60645 Why: These facilities were created as a response to the Orthodox community, who expressed a desire to lead healthy, active lifestyles through exercise in an appropriate environment. How: BHJCC staff and community leaders will provide a celebratory presentation on health, fitness, and Jewish values. Tours, workshops, and free fitness classes will be offered. Additionally, the Maxwell St. Trio will perform. Refreshments will be served. Who: JCC Community, friends, and public, including children of all ages. Quotes"We created the separate-gender workout rooms as a response to a growing need in the Orthodox community for an appropriate place to exercise. Our new facilities include separate men's-only and women's only workout areas with both featuring a full array of cardiovascular and weight-training equipment. We're proud that we are able to meet the needs of our community and that we will have one of the only JCC separate-gender exercise facilities in the country."
