Quotes

"Not only will campers have the best summer ever, our mitzvah projects will also teach them Jewish values including the joy and responsibility of making their community a better place.  My staff and I are all geared up to welcome our first campers to JCC Elaine Frank Apachi Day Camp on June 16. The pools are being filled, the grass is green, and the program equipment and supplies are arriving.  Based on our many years of day camp experience, our newest camp will feature innovative programs run by experienced, mature staff in combination with wonderful facilities that will amaze and delight families. The site features 2 pools, manicured sports fields, an indoor space for specialty activities and rainy days, nature areas, hiking trails, a climbing wall and ropes course, picnic areas, multi-purpose courts for various sports, and more."

Gayle Malvin, Director
Jewish Community Centers of Chicago Day Camping

"A Jewish community campus is critical to this growing Jewish neighborhood and its need for Jewish association and programming. We are very pleased that JCC, with its 104-year track record of excellence, will now be able to reach so many more people through what will be a wonderful camp and also high quality year-round early childhood and family programs."

Dr. Steven Nasatir, President
Jewish United Fund/Jewish Federation of Metropolitan Chicago

"The Northwest suburbs has the fastest growing Jewish population in Metropolitan Chicago. In developing this new camp and Campus, JCC of Chicago has already opened new relationships with hundreds of families in Lake, McHenry and KaneCounties who previously could not benefit from our programs. Not only will the camp have excellent facilities and activities, but the experiences will bring Jewish values to life for all the campers. This is also true of the planned year-round early childhood and children and family programs that will be offered on the Campus. Through our mitzvah projects and our Jewish values education that are part of daily life at all of our JCC locations, we are helping shape our future community."

Martin Levine, General Director
Jewish Community Centers of Chicago
