Adult/Child - Programs

JCC Adult/Child classes are designed to tap into children’s physical, social and cognitive skills and emotional well being at each developmental level. Skilled and talented teachers engage children in age-appropriate activities while parents learn about their child’s developmental stage through enriching activities. 0-3 Months

Classes encourage strengthening parent/child bond, child’s emerging senses and supports adults in their new role as parents during this transitional period for the entire family, including the newborn.

3-6 Months

Casses encourage child’s emerging sense of self as separate from parent, eye-hand coordination, eye-tracking and using hearing for leaning.

 

6-12 Months

Classes encourage rhythm in language, vocalization, controlled motor skills and non-verbal communication (clapping, waving bye-bye, pointing, etc).

 

12-18 Months

Classes encourage large & small motor skills, refinement of eye-hand coordination, verbal and visual cues to language.

 

18-24 months

Classes encourage investigation and exploration, language & speech, listening to & taking direction, child’s emerging literacy, refinement of small & large motor skills, offers an introduction to the world of make-believe and models appropriate socialization behavior.

 

24-36 Months

Classes encourage literacy, pretend play, coping with new feelings and a sense of being an individual, control & moderation of voice and body movements, language development and refinement & extension of skills already learned.
