The safety and security of children is our top priority. JCC’s full-time Director of Safety and Security is continually evaluating and updating safety and security measures with the support of local and national government and police authorities.

We are in regular communication with state and Federal agencies that monitor national and world events and who advise us if circumstances warrant any upgrade or modification to our security systems and procedures.

In addition to visible security measures, there are less apparent aspects of security in place as well. For our early childhood programs located in facilities other than JCC buildings we work with the property owners to ensure a high level of safety and security that meets JCC requirements

All JCC personnel are carefully screened and undergo background checks. They also receive training in security and safety measures including possible medical issues, severe weather conditions, and oversight needs of children and adults while in our care and supervision.

These procedures are not prompted by any specific threat to JCC but rather are part of the JCC’s ongoing effort to provide the safest environment for JCC Staff and families.
