 Martin M. Levine, General Director
Martin Levine is the General Director of JCC Chicago. Over the past 35 years, Mr. Levine has made major contributions to the evolution of the organization into its present position as the pre-eminent JCC in North America. His focus has been on strengthening JCC Chicago’s effectiveness as a Jewish community building and Jewish educational organization dedicated to “Bringing Jewish Values to Life” in all aspects of its programs and services. Mr. Levine has played an integral role in the development of new centers and camping facilities as JCC Chicago works to continue serving the entire Chicago Metropolitan Jewish community. In addition, he has had responsibility for guiding the organization’s integration of service and business strategies into a holistic approach. Recently, Mr. Levine has focused on organizational change and improvement, realigning JCC’s service system to allow it to more responsively and effectively deliver services to Chicago’s wide spread Jewish community.
In addition to his JCC responsibilities, Mr. Levine has served as a consultant on organizational change and improvement to school districts and community organizations, has published articles on organizational change and has presented at numerous conferences on the subject. A native of New York, he is a graduate of City College of New York where he studied Biology and Columbia University’s Graduate School of Social Work. Mr. Levine is a member of many professional organizations including the Association of Jewish Center Professionals (Board Member), the Association for the Advancement of Social Work with Groups, Association for Quality and Participation and the Future Search Alliance.
