Trip to Springfield, IL
Oct 7 all-day

Join us on a two-day bus trip to visit Springfield, Illinois. We will visit the Illinois State Capitol Building, the Old State Capitol, Lincoln’s Tomb, the Dana Thomas House and explore the life of Abraham Lincoln at the Abraham Lincoln Presidential Museum.

See the new Exhibition, Lincoln and the Jews. The exhibition, organized in conjunction with the Shapell Manuscript Foundation, brings to light the little-known relationship between Abraham Lincoln and Jewish Americans. Original documents, artifacts, photographs and first person accounts tell the story of how Lincoln’s meaningful bonds with Jewish individuals, his audacious defiance of anti-Semetic generals, and the interventions he made as president on behalf of all Jews reflected his deepest values and helped promote inclusivity in the United States.

The exhibition at the Lincoln Museum is based on the book Lincoln and the Jews: A History, by Jonathan D. Sarna and Benjamin Shapell
